Groundbreaking launches
50,000-square-foot expansion
Pennsylvania’s Secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development Dennis Yablonsky launched Lancaster Laboratories’ building project at a ceremonial groundbreaking held on September 20 on the company’s campus. Citing the family-sustaining jobs to be created and retained in Pennsylvania, he hailed the company as “a global leader in the biosciences.”
For the 11th time since 1961, Lancaster Labs breaks ground for a building addition, which will eventually house 150 new employees.

At the ceremony, Secretary Yablonski presented Lancaster Laboratories’ president Wilson Hershey with a large facsimile of a check for $560,000, representing economic development assistance from the state. The grants were awarded, he noted, because of the project’s significant economic impact and potential for new job creation in Pennsylvania.
