Making the Switch from GFAA to ICP/MS
Many clients requiring testing for arsenic, antimony, selenium, lead and thallium are taking advantage of the benefits of new technology by changing their analysis requests from graphite furnace atomic absorption (GFAA) to ICP/MS. EPA method 200.8 and 6020 are approved method references for ICP/MS. Lancaster Laboratories is certified to perform both of these methods, but clients will need to verify that the agency regulating their testing will accept these methods. In many cases, this means that permits issued by state agencies will need to be changed to reflect the new references. Clients will find upgrading their test methods beneficial because results are delivered faster and more economically, while still meeting regulatory requirements.
